This machine is very smooth and quiet. For someone in fairly poor physical shape, it was difficult at first. But in just a few short weeks, I've gone from only being able to do a 2 laps at level one up to 4 laps at level 8. Even at that level, I am not up to the level needed to perform any of the programmed beginner workouts. But I am confident, I will get up to that level in the very near future.

This machine is great. I would say I'm a fairly fit guy and this machine gives an intense workout in a short period of time. I have only gotten to the intermediate levels so there is plenty of room to grow with this machine as your fitness level increases. I like the ability to choose a short time yet high intensity workout or a longer duration workout to target fat burning. Highly recommend this machine.

I had a few small issues when assembling the machine. Some of the plastic pieces were difficult to tighten without breaking. Also the nuts that were integrated/welded did not match the threads of the bolts and cause cross threading issues repeatedly. After it was finally assembled. The machine is very sturdy and quiet. I can use the machine while wife watches TV without competing with ye volume.

Use my Proform most every day. Only issue is that the intensity program isn't set up for beginners which I'm not. A beginner setting shouldn't start at level 11. Otherwise I'm enjoying using it.

Great high intensity workout. Big part of the machine is ifit membership. Most maps and workout features disabled without membership. "iPad compatible" apparently means there is a USB port (which will not charge an iPad nor take music input). The usb post does charge an iPod, but other than that I don't know why it is there. The only music input is via aux cable, despite machine being "Bluetooth compatible*. Bluetooth only for chest strap heartbeat reader. If you are not an ifit member, buy the cheaper one. Regardless it has great workouts where you will definitely break a sweat (and no impact). We really like it, but it is hamstrung a little by ifit and old connections for music.
