The first thing I get, after getting a new phone, is the otter box for it. This one is great grip material that let's my love handle attach easily on the back, even with the thumbprint spot. Always happy with Otter Box!

Pretty average case for the most part. I wish it had a loop for a tether or something to make sure I don't drop my phone. I'm skipping the pop socket since I want a low-profile phone. A bit overpriced for what you get...I probably should've gotten the upgrade Otterbox.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had Otter Box for my previous Samsung Galaxy and it was my go-to choice when I needed a case right away for a replacement phone. The Defender in Black was out of stock for Pixel 3, so I settled on the Symmetry in Yellow (or Honey, or Gold). It is working okay. The yellow case makes the phone stand out so I am less likely to misplace it, but also shows wear stains more easily.
