Wonderful dishwasher; Lack of Operating Directions

The dishwasher cleans the dishes perfectly. It is quiet. Internal light is helpful as is top rack.
A detailed operating manual is not provided: only a summary. Bosch expects consumers to print a 50 page document off internet PDF. For a product that costs 2-3 times the average dishwasher, Bosch can easily afford to include the detailed operating manual with the dishwasher. The purchaser expects such information. I had problems getting it to run until I read the manual about shutting the door within 4 seconds of pressing the start button.

Great performance, confusing menu.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the performance of this dishwasher, but have been confounded more than a few times as to whether or not the program is actually working. If I set the program and open the door to add a few extra items, my wife and I are never sure if the program is set and have come down in the morning to find dirty dishes. I'm sure it's user error, but we are use to a much more simple menu under these conditions.
The recycled heat function was a big selling point for us and it has proven to be super effective in drying the dishes. Was a bit disappointed that I had to buy a full silverware rack, but the new rack came quickly and fit right in with no hassle.

Bottom line: Love the dishwasher and once I work out the menu issues, I'm sure it'll be a no stress appliance.

Very Disappointing

This dishwasher has been nothing but trouble. Here is an incomplete list of problems we've had.
1. In the first week the insulation, literally, slid out of the bottom of the unit on onto the floor.
2. The third rack has a wire grid that is spaced too far apart and things frequently fall out of it (this is especially bad when you are talking about knives).
3. The bottom rack has weirdly spaced tines that don't allow you to put in bowls.
4. The volume is much louder than the 40 decibels listed (this could be because our installation had to be reinstalled.
5. It is tough to tell when the unit is on. There is a little red light, but we frequently open the diswasher without thinking.
6. Simple functions like turning the dishwasher on requires multiple steps.
7. The Crystal Dry function is worthless or doesn't work on our unit.

Quiet As a Mouse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 20YO Bosch dishwasher with the current model. We are very pleased with the performance and the appearance of the new dishwasher. It is so quiet that we called customer support to ask for advice onhow to start it. The rep asked if a red light at the bottom right side of the door was on. It was! And we were surprised to find that it was running , but we couldn't hear it. We live in a "hard water" area, so the built in water softner is a great addition for us. We are very happy with this dishwasher and would certainly buy it again.
