Poor quality print
on February 11, 2022
Posted by: Unhappy Mac user
Print (with smaller fonts) is faint with almost a dot matrix-like appearance. Verified that toner saver option is off. Adjusting density for both 600 and 1200 dpi has no effect on print quality. A non-Canon printer used with this M1 Mac did not have this problem. Print was clear and sharp.

Fast Printer & High-Quality Scans
on May 26, 2019

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.
The Canon MF269dw is a fast, efficient all-in-one machine that is easy to use once set up properly. Its compact size makes it useful for home office or small business use, but it prints fast enough to compete with larger-format printers.
Set Up:
The MF269dw was relatively easy to set up and came with clear & comprehensive instructions. Connecting to wifi was as simple as selecting the network using the touchscreen and entering the password using the numeric keypad. Once connected, the printer showed up on the network and I was able to select the printer immediately from OS X and download the driver automatically and start printing (a process which took about 30 seconds). After downloading the Canon Print app for Android, I was able to print photos and documents from my phone when it connected to the same wifi network. Setting up the scan-to-email function was more difficult, and required a bit of trial-and-error. I quickly realized that working with the Remote UI through a web browser is much easier than using the touchscreen/keypad combo (and allows you to edit settings like the address book). To finally get scan-to-email working I had to adjust the SMTP port settings on the MF269dw itself and set up port forwarding on my router.
Functionality:
The MF269dw prints in high-quality black & white and does so quickly. I was honestly surprised with how fast the machine prints relative to its size. The print quality is great for both text and images, with no fading, banding, or blurring. Copying was a breeze and produced high-quality copies. Once it was set up correctly, the scan-to-email function became my favorite feature. While it only prints black & white, the MF269dw can scan high-resolution color images straight to an email address, a very useful function in any office environment.
Overall:
I would definitely recommend the Canon MF269dw to anyone looking for an all-in-one machine for business or home office use. The black & white print / color scan combination limits the MF269dw in some aspects, but allows it to print pages quickly. Thought the more complex functions required more complicated setup, the payoff is a reliable, high-quality machine that gets the job done fast.

I have had the printer for a few weeks now. It was easy to set up and has been performing very well. The double sided printing is a real plus.

Prints in grayscale when it wants to
on November 13, 2021

The wireless setup is pretty easy, especially if you know your router (wifi) info. The problem exists when you are printing and there are font changes within the document. It likes to print in grayscale in which you cannot darken or turn off grayscale. Very annoying.
When it prints in grayscale the text is barely legible. The printer was reset multiple times, settings changed to darken text without, firmware updated without positive results.

I just had the printer 2 weeks ago. It is easy to set up the printer. My desk top and laptop both have dvd drive; so I just run the CD disk and the installation and setting was done easily. I have not used the scan and fax function yet, but the printing is excellent. The machine runs super quiet, fast and the detail is sharp. The wireless printing is a plus, no wiring hassle. Duplex printing is another plus. I like this printer overall. The design, the performance, the function, all are good to me.

Glad I switched to a laser printer

I just switched to this laser printer from the old ink cartridges and loving it. It wasn't too difficult to set up and it's printing nicely. I did my research and this was the one I chose. My friend bought one as well. It does take up a little more room in height than my old printer, but worth it.

Just In one week of use it froze twice with errors requesting to disconnect power cord. This is rediculus. Also on two occasions it was not able to pick paper from auto feeder for scan. Never had this issues with my old HP.
