Bought this because my network is overloaded with all my smart devices (light switches, thermostats, etc). This allowed me to host an additional network to connect to for my personal internet use. So far so good.

Great Access Point

I tried range extenders but they did not work well - slow and not much range. The NETGEAR AC2000 Dual Band Wireless Access Point (WAC124) is very fast 43.5 MB on 44 MB service) and has great range. I would definitely buy it again.

I don’t like that you cannot use a local username and password. The initial setup was harder than it needed to be. Making sure it has an internet connection before setup, makes it difficult.

Great WAP

This is a great WAP device. I really like that it is dual-band and has multiple SSID's. Initial setup was somewhat difficult at first... you really have to read the directions carefully. You also need a Netgear account (no way around it as far as I could tell). Was able to get it to work in conjunction with a hardware firewall device and connected it to a DMZ (de-militarized zone) port on there so that Guest Wi-Fi would be separate from us. The Wi-Fi signal strength is good, but not anything to write home about. If you are expecting the distance to make it from, say, one side of a commercial office to the other side, you'll need to rethink your strategy... A "repeater" or two will help with this (worth it for stable Wi-Fi throughout a medium-sized building). Anyways, great product!

Netgear AC2000 access point

I installation a Netgear AC2000 as a access point in my living room for better coverage on my main floor and home office. I have the access pt. wired with cat 6 to my Netgear Nighthawk X10 router in my basement. I'm very happy with my reception.

Works great

I was replacing a really old wireless router because my Internet speed had increased and my old one was not capable. I was able to get this one up and running very quickly he’s passing the full 400 Mb per second from my provider. I wish it had LAN lights on the front, but otherwise very happy.
