What happened to Vizio quality?

I have owned three Vizio TVs and a Vizio Sound Bar over the years and I have enjoyed them immensely so when I decided to invest in a newer and larger TV I immediately shopped Vizio first and bought a 50" V505-H19 Smart TV. The set up was fast and easy, the picture was great but.....what's up with the sound? I could not get the volume to work with either the remote or the manual control on the back of the TV. I would singly press or hold down the volume control and get no response then the volume would radically change to zero or "blowing out the speakers". I called Customer Service who said they were aware of the issue, that I was "not alone" and that they were working on a firmware upgrade. "You will receive an upgrade and all will be good with your TV. Just be patient. After eight days and no upgrade I called Customer Service again and this Rep said that this same issue is affecting ALL OF THE SMART TVs. ALL of them? So, Vizio has been sending these out the door KNOWING they had a problem? When I asked if he knew of when I could expect the firmware update I was told that they were very busy and he didn't know when to expect a fix to be sent. Well, I knew when to fix it, right then and there. I returned the TV to the store I had purchased it from and they were very good about it. I then purchased another well-known, popular brand and spend almost an hour setting it up. It was way money and I do not like the format or the remote but, at least, it works. Why Vizio? Why?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’m the happiest girlie in all the realm with my Vizio 70” purchase! My prior tv was a Vizio circa December 2006!!! It lasted me 14 years and was one of the first flat screens back then. I can connect Apple TV from my iPhone to this new Vizio! Love love love it! Oh, I feel like I’m in an IMAX theatre! Awesome!
