Picture not so good

I own a 13 year old 55" Sony. I wanted to replace it in living room with a 65". So I bought this Vizio. Well, my Sony has a seriously better picture. The Vizio is washed out with blurred edges on everything, where as the Sony is bright and vivid. Vizio could not help me with any settings. I am really disappointed. How can a 13 year old TV with no modern features have a superior picture?

At VIZIO we pride ourselves on our highly rated picture quality. To make sure you’re getting the most out of your VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and are set to broadcast in 4K (2160p) or Full HD (1080p). You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms, try using the ‘VIVID’ picture mode for a brighter, more colorful image. Another good way to see the full capabilities of the TV would be to search for "4K HDR" in the YouTube app. As long as your network connection is able to support speeds needed for 4K HDR content, there are some amazing looking videos. Not getting all channels

In most cases I enjoy the tv however it is not allowing me do download premium stations such a Discovery +. I have to steam it off of my tablet in order to watch it.

Hello RhondaH, this TV uses our SmartCast Platform which offers a host of built in apps, as well as support for Google's Chromecast, Apple's AirPlay 2, and voice support for SIRI, Google Home, and Alexa. You are not able to manually download additional apps, however new apps are added to the platform often. If you find there is an app you want to watch that is not on SmartCast you may be able to cast it using Chromecast or Apple AirPlay from your phone or mobile device.
