Smartcast is a lifesaver!

I bought this tv and loveeee the smartcast. However, the connection is not always the best and wont connect without restarting the tv. Also, apps are limited on the tv which kind of sucks, but being able to cast from my phone/tablet/laptop makes up for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A wonderful TV with some flaws

The new Visio was presented to me at Christmas by my wife. The color and clarity are major assets, and with the sound bar, the audio is excellent. The apps contained on smartcast are included and easy to access.
On the downside is the random loss of signal and the need to reboot the tv. It happens when switching from one port to the smartcast. Instructions come right up on the screen and walks you through the rebooting process.
With more technology there seems to be more chances to breakdown. Very manageable but still a nuisance.
Still I am so glad to have my new Vizio. A movie theater in my living room. I love it

Beautiful video pathetic audio - needs a soundbar

We had a 1080p Vizio for quite a few years before this one but recently it went senile and wouldn’t turn off so we decided to upgrade to a Vizio 40” 4k. The horizontal dimensions of 36” were exactly what we needed to kind-of fit in our old wood console. The picture quality and all of the apps are fantastic but as is the rage these days on all flatscreen models - to keep a clean ginormous-looking screen on the front they have a very minimalist frame and the speakers face down or back. Needless to say the sound is pathetic. Enter the Vizio Soundbar which sounds incredible but you need to budget that in to your TV purchase. Such uber-high resolution and color visuals are completely negated by the terrible built-in audio. Vizio would be better to offer a package deal if they know the built-in audio is sub-par to the video - don’t treat your customers like idiots.

No operating manual!!!!!

First time ever a new tv would not include an instruction manual to even just know how to operate the remote. It cost me to print out their manual of 48 pages and I am not happy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
