I purchased the 55 in Vizio and the picture is not crisp, it is very dull.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To make sure you’re getting the most out of you VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and are set to broadcast in 4K (2160p) or Full HD (1080p). You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms try using the ‘Calibrated’ setting, for darker rooms try ‘Calibrated Dark’. Other than the smart TV channels already installed, I love the ability to use Apple air play with the TV. So much so that this is my second Vizio TV purchase in three months, and I convinced my friend to purchase two for her home. We both love our new TVs.
