Loving the built in apps

Bought mine just before the quarantine began, and so glad that I did. Having cut the cable a couple of years back, I was so pleased to see all of the built in apps available for free streaming.

Video and sound concerns

After using controls, video does not seem as sharp as it could be. Sound varies quite a bit from channel to channel.

To make sure you’re getting the most out of you VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and are set to broadcast in 4K (2160p) or Full HD (1080p). You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms try using the ‘VIVID’ picture mode for a brighter more colorful image. Nice TV - Bad Firmware

Purchased two model and after the initial software update the TV's smartcast is bricked. the latest firmware does not work on either the V405 or V505 models. So a new owner who is hoping to stream content will not be able to until next firmware update. Customer Service is unable to provide a timeline on when this will be fixed. but has been an issue for quite some time now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
