air fryer

I am not happy with this purchase. I used the air fryer and it set off three smoke detectors and fill the whole house with smoke. I was not happy to pay another $50 for the air fryer tray. Since oven has this feature should be included instead of the griddle. I won't be using this feature and would not tell anyone to buy this just for the air fryer. The oven also makes noise after it is shut off and it you don't have the burners turned on right they whistle.

To prevent excessive smoking during when using the Air Fry feature, we do recommend that a baking tray (lined with foil or parchment paper if desired) be placed two racks below the air fry tray to catch the drippings! Failure to do so can cause excessive smoking from the appliance. Awesome Range!

We have always used frigidaire gallery appliances for 10+ years. We LOVE them. This range is no different, it cooks very well & even, it does however cook hotter & faster than our last range. We.fianlly got to use the "air fry" feature and we LOVE it. So far we are very pleased with this range and have enjoyed all the features it has to offer. We HIGHLY recommend this range for anyone looking for an upgrade.

Great range for the price-point

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve been using this for about a month and have put it through its paces. Breads, cookies, casseroles all are coming out nice thanks to the convection oven’s even heat distribution. no more uncooked spots and burnt crust on the same loaf!
The range has an even, open feel to it and cooking with 3 or more pans or pots at the same time feels effortless unlike my previous range.
Burners are all accurate and have good range of function. I love the high-powered one for boiling large pots.
I’m not the biggest fan of the touch screen control, it feels as though it isn’t sturdy. It takes a light touch though so it doesn’t need to be bashed into submission to work which is a nice upgrade from my old Samsung.
We’re dying to try the AirFry feature but haven’t received the tray yet (which is a separate purchase) bur I’ve read others’ reviews which sound great.
Overall a fantastic value for the price and a real upgrade from the standard fare it competes against.

Too much smoke

Hello Teebone, Thanks for your feedback. It is normal for smoke to occur if oil drips on to the bottom of the unit. When using the Air Fry Tray, put a cookie or baking sheet under the tray a couple of rack positions down. This keeps drips and crumbs from landing on the oven bottom, where they will burn and make smoke. Place some foil-lined parchment paper on the baking sheet. Parchment paper traps oil and keeps it from smoking. Use cooking oils that can stand up to a high temperature. For example, olive oil and some vegetable oils will smoke at lower temps than avocado, grapeseed, and peanut oils. Cooking sprays made from these oils are available at the grocery store. Also, remember to keep foil, parchment paper, and bakeware off the bottom of the oven! The oven bottom needs to stay clear so air can circulate. Oven doesn’t work properly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased and installed less than a month ago. Less than 3 days of use and oven cuts off every time it hits 180-190 degrees. Have to turn everything off to oven and restart. May work or may cut off 2-3 more times. Repair man has been twice and oven still does not work.
