My eyes are still burning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I tried for the 2nd time to airfry chicken wings. I have been cooking for 55 years and know how to follow directions but Mother of God, a smoke filled house again, alarms going off like crazy even with windows and doors open. I purchased this gas airfry stove a couple of month ago and the problem I find is the stove venting system. All the smoke vents forcefully directly into the room and no way to divert it. Can this stove be vented to the outside like my microwave? It's a very bad design if you want to cook at high temps. Please let me know how to vent it outside. I now will buy a little air fryer and plug it in on the patio. I love the look of the stove and otherwise cooks well but the airfry....loser!

I’m not pleased to hear about your experience with the range. I’ll be happy to pass on your concerns to our design and engineering teams. It is normal for smoke to occur during air fry if oil drips on to the bottom of the unit. When using the Air Fry Tray, put a baking sheet on the oven rack a position or two below the Air Fry Tray. This keeps drips and crumbs from landing on the oven bottom, where they will burn and make smoke. Place some foil-lined parchment paper on the baking sheet. Parchment paper traps oil and keeps it from smoking. Use cooking oils that can stand up to a high temperature. For example, olive oil and some vegetable oils will smoke at lower temps than avocado, grapeseed, and peanut oils. Cooking sprays made from these oils are available at the grocery store.
Remember to keep foil, parchment paper, and bakeware off the bottom of the oven! The oven bottom needs to stay clear so air can circulate.

Great tech

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this back in June and have experimented with the air fry option. Had great success with roast convection on a 9lb roaster, was crisp, flavorful and well cooked. Regular baking is just fine and the top burners are all excellent. However as others have noted the amount of smoke generated with the air fryer is a major issue. I cooked about 4lb of wings the other night, added NO extra oil except to spray the air fry tray, and coated them with dry seasoning and cooked for 20 minutes at 425 while using a baking sheet with parchment on the 1 rack, the air fry tray on on the 3rd rack. I opened the kichen door, turned up the above mounted microwave ventilation on full, and opened several windows in the kitchen. There was simply a lot of smoke generated. With all the extra windows/door open, it did not set off the smoke detector, but there really was a lot of smoke. After about 20 minutes, I basted the chicken, cooked for another 5 minutes and was done. The wings were crispy and delicious, but there REALLY is a lot of smoke when you do this. You almost need a hood installed over the oven to vent the smoke.

Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Range was installed last week and it seems to work very nicely. It's well made. I was surprised it comes with 3 shelves, since most ranges have 2. Even more surprised it did not come with a broiler pan, nor the Air Fryer Tray so that I can take advantage of the broiler and air fryer features. Although I might be able to figure out creative replacements on my own. Those 2 items plus shipping add up quite bit on top of what the appliance has cost.

Noisy, Whining Fan After 3 Months

My brother has a similar model and the entire reason why we bought this one. The fan in his range started making a whining noise about 6 months after purchase. Ours started making the exact same noise about 3 months after we bought it. The Kitchenaid range that I replaced with this Frigidaire one with was 11 years old and it didn't have a noisy fan. How is it possible that a new range that is barely 6 months old has a faulty fan??? And during COVID, I can't get someone from FRIGIDAIRE to replace the fan. I'm hoping they will honor the 1-Year Warranty so I can get this fan replaced sometime in the near future.

Does EVERYTHING!

I’m new at the air frying so I’m winging it till I can locate an air fry RANGE cookbook but so far love that feature. I love the 5 different burner choices, the different BTU’s at each burner. Haven’t used the griddle yet. This range has it all! I’m really excited about cooking Now. It’s so streamlined that clean up is so much quicker & easier! My hubby & I really researched before making a choice (he more than I & he does zero cooking) And we had to by a conversion kit on line for propane ( instead of gas). That was so easy for us to do. You may think a week is not long enough to know it’s a great range but I’ve cooked enough years- I just know, We made the right choice. I highly recommend this range. - Carole
