As I am a teacher who has had to work from home at times, I purchased this docking station to accommodate for the laptop that I purchased in December 2020 which comes with USB-C ports and NO USB-A ports.
So far, so good, but I wish that there were ports for the price that I had to pay to get this docking station, including more USB-C ports. I purchased this docking station to more easily connect to my two monitors while teaching virtually or while taking teacher related courses/training from home. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to use this docking station as much as I had hoped because, it months for this product to arrive. By the time that the docking station arrived, I had already moved back to teaching at school, even if the classes are virtual I still need to teach from school.
Loud compared with other docking stations. Not enough USB-A ports, Cable to short to hide large docking station under tables etc. and this dock is huge.
There is a bracket which can be used to affix the dock behind a monitor which i think solves many of my complaints but this thing is loud and the fan runs at random when not used.
When i had this in my home office i found myself turning off the power bar at my desk. Replaced this with the Dell U3421WE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For whatever reason, it is sensitive to movement of any kind. Movement of the computer power cord tends to disrupt the power and shuts the monitors off. The IT guys say the docking station created a lot of issues related to my printer, and compatibility issues with my old monitors. I would suggest making sure you use Dell products with this docking station and make sure you have enough ports for your needs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am very pleased with my purchase, especially after reading so many reviews about the product or previous versions of it causing complications. I've had zero issues with this Thunderbolt dock, it's been a pleasure from the point that I plugged it up along with both monitors and all other ports utilized. With both of my 27-inch monitors, I also have the luxury of the laptops screen as my 3rd monitor, no glitches, no loag, everything works great as of this review.
