Excellent way to dock your dell if you are using a home computer system; it minimizes the number of cords required for a home office setup. It allows you to use the charger and small dock that came with the computer for travel.
I got this dock because I had so many things connected to my laptop and it was a pain to reconnect them all whenever I left my desk and came back. (Monitor, mouse, audio output, audio input, and webcam.) Now I can connect *almost* everything just with the one Thunderbolt cable–it makes life so much easier! The only place it falls a bit short is that I noticed if I connect my external webcam through it, for some reason it flickers. Maybe the throughput isn't enough for streaming video? But it isn't a big issue because everything else works perfectly. So, when I sit down at my desk, now I just need to connect the Thunderbolt cable for the dock and my one USB connection for my webcam. It does make life much easier.
Provides plenty of power, connects 2 monitors with no problem (can do more if you’ve got em), conveniently provides power, Ethernet, and several usb inputs over one usbC lightning port. Doesn’t get too hot. Shipping was delayed multiple times, but it arrived eventually.
defective upon arrival. wouldn't turn on or power anything. crashed the computer when you plugged it in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does everything it is supposed to do. I did get an alert that the power was insufficient for computer but will work. This message did not come back. Not enough user setup info for my liking, ie it was never adequately explained why and when we need to plug in two USB-C power sources.
If you’re looking to utilize more than one monitor, rethink this purchase. It only has one HDMI out and if you try to use a HDMI to Lightning port at the same time as you are using the HDMI port, forget about it! The dock doesn’t support this. You’ll have to buy an additional device that plugs into the lightning port and has two HDMI outputs. For the price, you’d think Dell could’ve made the choice to allow for multiple HDMI inputs. Also, the lightning port cord to the computer is a loose fit. Meaning your screens will go out and refresh from time to time. Not worth the money for the limited capability.

Dock works fairly well, but I need to have a second power supply to run that and my M7750. The older port replicators were great. Only one power supply and worked flawlessly with three monitors. This is a step backwards. Try it again Dell!
