The dock works great with my XPS 7590. My only complaint or change I would like to see is to have the Thunderbolt cable able to be connected on either end instead of fixed coming out of one end. The way my desk is setup at work it is kind of awkward. This little change would offer us a lot of flexibility in our work spaces. Other than that minor inconvenience this is a great little dock. Provides ample power to my laptop, offers more than enough connections for dual monitors, peripherals, speakers, ethernet and more. Even works with my MacBook Pro when I need to connect it. You can't go wrong with this one.
This docking station is (thus far) fantastic. I'm running a Dell Precision 5530 laptop (which has a high power demand 130w) and this dock delivers it. An added bonus is when you plug in thunderbolt cable to the laptop and open, it automatically powers on; not really needed, but that's slick. I haven't pushed the limits of this dock, as I only use two 1080 monitors, so I cannot speak to any upper end limitations it may have.
Using it on an i9-based XPS-15 with 32G RAM. Generally works well once drivers are updated. Nice to have a single cable for just about everything. However, my 4K video camera (which I use for Zoom meetings) doesn't work smoothly via the dock's USB3 connector. Via the dock, the video has transient gray bars which disappear when using the USB3 port on the laptop itself. Not a big deal, but reduces the review to 4/5 stars.
it does what it should. I wanted this because i needed a gigabit network adaptor and have an external monitor. I do get gig speed from the network which is great. Also, I read that people had issues with it not providing enough power. I only need to have the thunderbolt plugged in and it supplies enough power for my XPS 15 i7 8th gen with 16GB ram without requiring the power supply also plugged in. And i am a power user and develop in java and run a windows server VM with sql and a tomcat server locally without issues.
causes issue with Macbook Pros. reboots machines and blacks out monitors. Dell has no fix
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works well, but needs lots of driver updates. You have to update several drivers on your PC, and this dock before it will work at all. It can be frustrating to get the dock, and have to spend an hour updating every driver, BIOS, and firmware before it works properly, but eventually it does work.
