It just works regardless of what laptop you connect.

Probably one of the most well rounded docking stations around for Dell laptops and even Mac laptops. This particular model works well in a setting where you are unsure if a PC or Mac will be docking to use peripherals.

Dock has issue with HDMI connection although when you connect directly with laptop, monitor hdmi works fine. Monitor goes blank in between for 1-2sec randomly if connected with Dock. Power button does not work from day one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The dock is a major space saver as it can be located out of the way and connect to the laptop with a single cable.
My concern, where laptops are removed from the desk on a regular basis, would be fear of the port being damaged, so far it's been ok.

The purchase of the docking station provide the ability to connect a second monitor and provide a hardware connection to my network. It has worked great. The only down side, is that I wish that it had more usb and thunderbolt ports.
