These are great Dell Thunderbolt docks. A very nice improvement over the previous TB16 and older docks that were so problematic. Dell took the criticisms to heart and made a much better product in the WD19TBS.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like everything else, they have increased in price, but have decreased in options. There used to be a 5mm speaker port. I understand why it disappeared, but it could have been replaced with a USB port. They require frequent firmware updates. If you don't keep these up, they don't behave correctly. All that being said, they are powerful and I don't know of any competition.

Great for multiple monitors (thought the fan is loud). Sadly, there is no Wake on LAN, so a remote restart of the laptop leaves it waiting to connect to wireless which requires a user be at the machine. There is no analog audio out, and a USB-C to 3.5mm TRS adapter does not work. My new 7420 is running on my old D6000 dock perfectly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dell docking stations are the best, I have purchased serveral of them with are XPS laptops and only one had a problem. Dell immediatly replaced it and the very next day it was all the way in Anchorage Alaska! You cannot go wrong with the price, speed and convience of just pluging in a thunderbolt cable.
Better than the old docking stations for sure, but not perfect.

Overall, not bad. Would have liked it better if it had 2 hdmi ports instead of 2 display ports. Docking via USB C is great, however where the docking station's USB C cable plugs into the USB C port on the laptop is not supported properly. We've had several of them break already. The USB C needs a small bump or something on the end to support the weight of the cable and connector. The USB C male end isn't sufficient for holding that weight. My new one is already slanted at an angle. USB ports on the front would have been better served by having them face up for easy access. I have to move my laptop if I wanted to use them.
Dock (recommended by Dell) doesn't work for the laptop I purchased.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
