The plug and wire are a bit heavy and can ruin the port it is plugged in to if the laptop is elevated while plugged in. This has resulted in 2 motherboards needing to be replaced under warranty before we started supporting the cable to take the strain off of the port. Either the port on the motherboard needs to be shored up or the connector could use a 90* at the end to help relieve the stress. The performance of the dock is great, make sure you follow the instructions and install all of the drivers required before using it and it will perform great.
Wasn’t compatible with my laptop (Dell Inspiron 5501). You need a compatibility category in the tech specs for each docking station. It took a call to Tech Support and 2 hours on hold to have someone tell me it wasn’t compatible.
I would recommend this to a friend!
