Hi there.
I'm sorry to hear that your printer is yielding prints so slowly and also making more noise that you’d expected. It’s easy to understand why that would quickly become frustrating. We want to make sure that your printer is reliable for any urgent printing needs and working like it should, so I’ll point you toward some resources I hope will help.
First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; choose whichever of the following two links matches your operating system: - Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409 - Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898
I can’t tell from your review what type of noise your printer is making or what’s causing it, so for help with that – and in case the slow-printing issue remains – I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
A True Piece of Junk--This item was returned due to the fact the cartridge had to be installed and the software to connect it to my computer did not work. I replaced it with the 9025e which worked right out of the box. Pay the money for the upgrade!
EXPECTED THIS PRINTER TO WORK LIKE THE LAST BUT IT DOES NOT

Hi there.
I’m sorry that you’ve encountered difficulty with your printer. Your review is brief, and although your frustration is clear, I can’t determine what issue you’ve faced or whether you were able to complete the setup and installation process. Nonetheless, I’ll provide some resources aimed at helping you get the device working to your satisfaction.
If you still need to complete setup and installation, you can access a setup tutorial specific to your printer on our support site. Otherwise, on the same page you can find user manuals, how-to documents, software updates and troubleshooting guides. Find those materials here: - support.hp.com/us-en/product/model/37934158
You can also visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various tasks and issues, including setup and connectivity difficulties. There you can find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. You can find the page here: - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
If you need further assistance with anything, I suggest you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number: - hp.com/plus-help
HP was always a printer company and tended to provide much simpler and bug-free drivers. I love HP but hope they get back to their former self. Things have changed as they have opened up their printers to the internet and attempted to build a universal control center with HP Smart. It’s not so smart in cases where multiple locations with varied HP printers or in instances where multifunction like scanning is involved and mix of windows and Mac platforms. Even the HP advanced techs give up troubleshooting and go back to deleting and re-adding printers when faced with the recurring problems I’ve had since I bought this printer. My home office co-worker (wife/realtor) misses the much simpler days when our Officejet 8600 worked for more than 10 years with a very simple interface.
This printer is perfect for my small business office. I purchased this printer as a replacement for my HP OFFICEJET ALL-IN-ONE 6790 which passed away (smile). My new 9020e has 2 paper trays, updated slide in ink cartridges and a great digital display screen. The fax works perfectly and quietly. I think it will work out fine.
Output Tray only holds 35-50 sheets!!!! This is massively inconvenient for someone who prints 160 sheets at a time, almost bad enough to make me want to return this otherwise very nice printer.
