Inquired about the next version of HP Printer 8740. Phone rep said the HP 90025 was the unit that would work. Not even close. Flimsy and cheap unit. Also said delivery 3-day's. It was a week.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this printer because it has all the features I desire. In particular, it includes a female RJ45 connector enabling an ethernet connection. This enables me to disable my wifi modem when I wish to more securely print. It also provide 2-sided scanning. This enables me to scan or copy a two sided document without having to return to the printer to manually reload (and reload correctly) the second side of the pages. As I now find I scan more and print less, this feature becomes increasingly important to me. The printer cost me a bit more, but hopefully I will amortize the increased cost over a few years and I definitely appreciate having all the features I missed along the way.
My new HP Office Jet Pro 9015e is perfect for my retirement. Nice small size for my home office and it does everything you need---print, fax and scan. The new HP Smart software works nicely with the printer.
I upgraded to the OfficeJet Pro 2015e and its great! It's quiet and prints quickly. The touch key pad makes it easier to make copies and the paper feed saves lots of time. It's also small enough to fit under my desk which allows more room for me to work.
My wife & I have had this printer less than a month. As such, we haven't used it all that much. Thus far, it has been excellent in every way. The print quality, both black & white text, color, graphics, copying function, etc. have been great! We haven't used fax or scan, yet. It's also very fast! I've read one review complaining that it's loud when running. This has not been our experience. My guess is the person complaining of this probably had the printer on a shaky stand or surface. We have ours on a very sturdy printer stand and it has been very quiet. The only complaints I have with this printer are that set-up was much more difficult than I anticipated and certainly more complicated than it should be for the average person. I finally had to resort to HP technical assistance from 2 different agents using one of my laptops, remotely, both times. The first one thought he set it up correctly but that proved not to be the case. The second finally got it right. I hope we don't have to go through this again when synching our other laptop and our desktop to it. I just may rely upon a USB cable connection for the desktop to, hopefully, avoid this. The only other very minor complaint I have is that the printer cartridges, upon insertion, didn't provide a tactile reassuring "click" to let you know they were seated or inserted properly. However, nothing to really worry about here because the printer will not operate and let you know if the cartridges are not seated properly. This may just be something we need to grow accustomed to. If this printer proves to be anywhere near as reliable as our first HP printer, we won't be buying anything other than an HP printer in the future.
