I really give it 4.5 stars. It was easy to set up and get going, except for scanning, which required HP tech help by phone (the website instructions didn't work). Since then, it has worked beautifully -- fast printing in color as well as B&W, clear copies, and option to scan as a jpeg or PDF (the latter requires a separate configuration). Makes working from home so much easier. Bought it based on a Wirecutter review, and they did not let me down!
I haven't used all the features yet, buy so far it is great. One thing I noticed is when printing a 1 page document, it turns page over and then prints. Is there a way to have it just print?
The printer works great but limits on printing are terrible. Instant ink creates a situation whereby you are suck if the ink runs out on a big job. You can’t just run to the store and replace a cartridge. It won’t let you print until you get a new one in the mail.
This printer is so quiet and so much faster than my former HP printer, which was 6 years old. I don't do that much printing, but this printer is fast and efficient, which is just what I need.
hp support helped me find the best printer for me. However, It's more than I needed. The part to print documents is not anything that I would use, so it makes the printer bigger than I would like. It takes up too much space on my desk. Otherwise, I am happy with the function of the printer.
Somewhat ok, but: 1. Sometimes when printing double sided, it is very slow (tediously 1 line at a time .2. I keep getting a message that the printer is disconnected from computer. I tried with HP to get this fixed once, but it came back. 3. Sometimes when I send a print job from PC to printer, it tells me that printer is n/a, but after a pause prints ok. Printer is at times very noisy. Other than this is seems like a good machine, quiet and fast. 4. HP Smart shortcuts are not obvious.
