I've had nothing but issues since installing this. It was very difficult to set up and connect to my work lap top. When I can get it to print, it makes a horrendous noise like something is grinding. The HP Smart app is a pain and not much help with anything. When it decides to print, the quality is mostly fine, though I can see a slight line through colored images.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there.
I’m sorry to learn that your printer has performed poorly. I can certainly understand your dismay and frustration, considering you’ve endured a difficult setup process, software trouble and flawed print quality, not to mention the unsettling noise you describe. I want to help you out of this dilemma. I hope you’ll use the resource and information below to reach that end.
I can’t tell from your review what’s causing these problems, but the noise concerns me especially. I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number: - hp.com/plus-help
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
I'm extremely happy with our purchase. It serves our needs with many additional features that I haven't yet explored. The color prints are clear and realistic. I love being able to print from our phones. I'm still exploring and learning. Definitely a good purchase for two 70+ seniors.
My previous Jp scanner was significantly better omg never again

Hi, Marc.
I’m sorry that you’re not satisfied with your printer’s scan function. It’s easy to understand why this would be a big disappointment, especially considering you prefer your previous HP printer’s scanning performance. I want to help improve your experience, so I’ll direct you to some resources I hope will make that happen.
First, I recommend that you follow a guide to improving scan quality that you’ll find on our support site. It covers what to do when the scanned file on a computer or the printed output has vertical lines, incorrect colors, color bands or poor resolution. Find that here: - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05343887
If you face a different issue, you can find troubleshooting guides and how-to documents (including ones on scanning) as well as user manuals and software updates specific to your printer here: - support.hp.com/us-en/product/model/37934143
You can also visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including scanning. There you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common scanning and printing difficulties. You can find that page here: - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
If any problem persists, I suggest you contact us directly so we can help you assess what’s happening and find a solution. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. very nice, only thing it needs is a longer neck to catch the letters or legal papers. I print alot per month, using two printers, but I still love this particular printer. It prints fast too, and i use it for letter vs legal here in this computer. Thankyou HP, a small business owner.
I am disappointed with the quality of the printer. I used the 8610 before this 9010 and they are not comparable. The 8610 lasted 8 years and was still working with the exception of the automatic document feeder (ADF). This machine takes a long time to start-up, shakes and shimmers as it works, has very limited space for adding sheets to the ADF and doesn't have many of the features that I grew to rely on with my previous machine. I would prefer that HP make quality machines that are going to last many years and charge a bit more for them rather than producing cheaply made equipment that is going to end up in the landfill.

Hi, Georgia.
I’m sorry that your printer is making unexpected noise when it prints. I can’t tell from your review what type of noise it is or where you believe it originates, but your sense of alarm is clear, so I’ll provide some information and a resource I hope will help you resolve this issue.
First, I'll explain a factor that might be causing the noise you hear. While your printer is powered up, it makes sure that the nozzles are regularly cleared, which can be noisy, especially if the printer is on a hard surface. I suggest you try placing the printer on a padded surface to muffle the vibrations that occur.
If the noise continues at an unacceptable level, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find what can be done. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
