Setup is very easy however the ink cartridges would not lock in the carriage for the first several tries. They kept popping out when printer started it’s test cycle. Once the cartridges locked in, the printer would not complete setup cycle. I could not clear the error message. I connected with online tech support and explained the problem. Tech support recommended unplugging the printer, wait a minute and restart the printer. The setup cycle started over and completed the setup. Tech support was very helpful.
The quick setup guide fails to show connection ports on the backside. Ink cartridges do not set with any positive feeling or sound and require a "soft" touch (as compared to previous HP printers owned). Colour ink cartridges supplied were near empty. Not impressed with ink supplied. Setup was most easily accomplished with HP Support Assistant rather than the unnecessarily complicated recommend in setup guide. Complements on having a sturdy plastic bag in packaging to ease removal from box.
Printer is fine: Set up was fairly easy following the printed directions and the online app. Essentially worked right out of the box.
That said, the app to manage the printer on my Mac could stand some improvements. They have some limitations with Mac that apparently don't exist with PCs; as a result, launching the desktop app requires me to log every time I want to scan instead of just launching the app.
Will have to see about how pages look as ink gets low and how expensive it is to buy as needed (rather than through their subscription service).
