Following the setup instructions, I removed the tape and packaging, then plugged it in to power it up. I was told that the printhead could not move and to check for a paper jam but I had not installed paper per the setup instructions yet. I was finally able to get the printhead to move and clear that up but every time I print there's a lot of noise and clunking sounds. Not sure if this is normal or not. It replaces an OfficeJet Pro 8720 but the handling of the printed paper is less convenient. It looks like when printing a lot of pages they will end up on the floor whereas the 8720 kept the pages where they would not end up on the floor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, Hameed.
I’m sorry that your printer has performed so poorly for you. I can wholly understand why a contradictory paper-jam error, a printhead that would not initially move and unsettling noises would be cause for concern. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide some resources that I hope will guide you to that end.
I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the sounds you describe nor whether the printhead issue is adequately resolved. I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the proper course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number: - hp.com/plus-help
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
The printer is good. It's a bit slow especially if you choose to tap "print" before it begins. Why would you do that? It took 3 days to set the printer up with more than an hour on line with HP. They had to redo the hard drive and instruct it to choose the network. How popular is this printer? It is a good printer so far. I signed up for instant ink - free for 6 months and a 3 year warranty. I don't believe these aspects of the printer are in the same department. We will see. This is week one.
So far so good. Was easy to set up. I had an HP 8300 series less than 2 years old and couldn't get it to work anymore. I guess a lifespan of a printer is less than 24 months.
