Two problems: [1] setting up wireless printing, [2] printing business checks from QuickBooks. First- the setup almost insists on setting up the printer as a wireless printer. I could not figure out how to do it (I have 40 years of technology experience). But I noticed that there is an ethernet port on the printer. My prior HP printer used the ethernet port so I plugged in the cable and the printer recognized the use of ethernet and stopped insisting on wireless printing. Second- My former printer was an HP 8600. It printed business checks perfectly. This new printer changes the paper feed by about 1 millimeter. This does not sound like a big deal but it makes the check memo line show in the envelope window. My envelopes are compatible with QuickBooks and the 8600 did not have this problem. I don't think there is anything I can do about the paper feed but if this quirk bothers you, be forewarned. Everything else seems fine. I have not yet tried printing mailing labels using the 9015 printer.
My Office Pro 8600 'supposedly' broke (would not connect to wifi) and the technician said the radio was broken and i needed to order a new printer. My new printer came and we had the completely same issue setting up the wifi (making me think that my 8600 is not broken). We finally got it connected to the wifi. My new printer seems like it has cheaper parts, is not as solid as the 8600, I can even tell just be the feel of how the cartridges load into the printer and the clanky noises it makes. Sigh. The printer works fine though...now I need to see if my 8600 works still!
First off, the touch screen is WAY too small. Difficult to read and difficult to use. It’s too easy to hit the wrong icon. If you are using this for basic printing and copying it’s fine. But if you need to utilize the touch screen for scanning, entering data, etc., get a different all-in-one. Phones are bigger, iPads bigger...why, because it’s so much easier to use. I would want a screen twice the size (at least) of the current model. I don’t care if I’m charged more for that. I want easy functionality and the current screen is inadequate. Otherwise a good all-in-one.
It comes with no instructions. I went on line to learn how to scan. Too complicated for me Someone helped me set up wireless copy mode. Did help with scanning. I thought it was all set up only to learn it’s not. Also faxing is not set up.
I had to replace my 8610 HP as the print head stopped working. I tried to find the closest model to it and purchased the 9015. The construction of the machine was made with cheaper materials. The tray is made of a flimsy plastic and it barely fits snug on top of the paper tray. Printed materials don’t fit Inside the dimensions of the top of the tray and they fall on the floor when a few print.
