The color is not vibrant at all. I was sold this printer as an upgrade to My HP 6910. However, the color is as washed out as what I previously had. I am Very displeased w/ this printer and would not recommend for colored prints.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there.
I’m sorry to learn that your printer has rendered prints of substandard quality. I can imagine what a disappointment it’s been after upgrading from your previous printer to see color prints that look washed out. I want to help you remedy this problem. I hope the resources below reach that goal.
First, I recommend following the steps listed in a guide on our support site to improving print quality. Issues covered include faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text. Find that guide here: - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2040896-1521878-16
If print quality does not improve to your satisfaction, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
This is the second in this series I have owned and I am very pleased with it ease of use, quality of printing. I have long been a MAC OS user with AIRPRINT, and it is flawless. Highly recommended!
Despite some not that good reviews I can say this printer is faster than I expected. Scans your documents in a blink. Prints 2-sided documents decently fast. No complaints at all. Setup was easy. Just make sure you have your HP smart app ready on your phone and thats it. No cables or computer required for setup. Get this printer if you are looking for more than just a printer. Love it
My printer is Officejet Pro 6978 - not the one named above. I resent the necessity of using only HP ink - it is coercion and hits hard in the pocket book. You should fix that. Your ink is no better than after market brands - just more expensive and the printer won't work with other brands. Also, The pullout for prints (both top and bottom) only holds a letter size paper - it would have been nice if they pulled out a little farther for a legal size paper.
