The printer is working great, except there was no ink included in the box. I purchased ink along with my purchase so I had to use it. I'm wondering if the ink that was to be included in the order was removed because I also purchased ink or if it was left out of the box on accident.
I had the hardest time trying to get my printer to connect via wireless. I operate on Windows 10 and this printer is not compatible with it at all. I ended up having to use the ethernet cable. The images look great and the printer prints documents quickly.
For a basic all-in-one color office printer, this is exactly what I need. It replaces the same model that was destroyed (daughter learning to drive - don't ask!). Easy to get ready, all the basic features, two paper drawers, wireless, all the stuff one needs. The downsides are that it is physically weak and clearly cheaply made, kind of ugly, and it takes many more screen choices than other HP printers I have had to perform simple tasks... like making a friggin copy. Ink is also expensive. Sadly, these weaknesses (delicate, ugly and costly ink) tend to be ubiquitous throughout the greedy industry. Planned obsolesence (sp?). Despite these flaws, it is a decent printer and will be worth it if your teen daughter does not drive through the garage wall into your home office!
I've only had the product a few days, but it was super easy to set up and the quality of the printouts is better than my last non-HP printer. I think we will be very happy together. My one complaint is I wish the control panel was larger. My previous computer had a larger one and there seems to be space for it design-wise. But I really like everything else about it including the look.
I bought this printer about a month ago and it is still not fully working. I've spent 4-5 hours on the phone with HP support, getting bounced from department to department. Somehow, trial and error, I've gotten it to work for basic tasks. It is way noisier than any printer I've ever had, even in "Quiet" mode. The display is too small. I can't imagine why Wirecutter gave this printer their top rating.
During the initial setup process, the printer continually triggered a paper jam error. There had never been any paper placed in the machine and all packaging material had been removed. I followed all troubleshooting instructions provided on the printer's display, along with the HP-published videos online. I'm not new to technology setup, I've worked professionally in IT for 20+ years. The printer was returned.
