This model was suggested as a replacement for my previous 3-in-one printer with the dead print head. I am disappointed, frankly. The instruction that came with the printer for set up were incomplete. The structure of the paper tray and copy tray are very flimsy plastic and don’t operate smoothly (I had to actually provide some lubricant 😞 to get them to slide). Making copies from a book yesterday, I had problems with the printer looking for an original from the document feeder- so ANY pressure whatsoever (I mean just resting my hand on it) on the top to press down the book at all triggered this. It is a much slower printer than the previous HP printer. The ink provided with the printer covered about 15 copies at most then totally failed, causing smearing of the copies and just a big mess.
The copies , when they occur and before the low ink situation, are crisp. This is just a disappointing and flimsy printer. It was not by any means inexpensive, so why so cheaply made??? The ink cartridges for this printer are a step back also, with the huge orange plastic top that has to be twisted off by strong, non-arthritic thumbs- a waste of plastic and energy which my previous printer had greatly improved upon. I was told this newer model worked with the “new” HP inks, but this cartridge design also seems like a failure and nothing progressive. Why the big wasteful plastic top to throw away every time??? Don’t buy this model.
