The printer started out very well and we were pleased. However, at the first change of ink we inserted new cartridges and the printer responded with a note to the effect that the ink cartridges were not working well and gave us a picture dis play of changing the red color. After putting three different red cartridges in, I requested help. The help was helpful and suggested that we install the set of replacement cartridges that was shipped to u. These new cartridges were installed and we have a notice on the printer screen, "Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink. We don't understand this statement because the Printer information was installed in Instant Ink when it was first setup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I spent quite a bit of time reviewing the specs, but was disappointed to discover that this newer model of what I thought was the same machine, does not allow for 2 sided scanning. It seems as though the quality of newer models keeps going down. I hate having to upgrade so often - it is such a waste and bad for the environment. I wish they could make better quality machines that would last more than a couple years. Unfortunately, I fear it is like this with everything made these days... they have to keep their sales numbers up! So my old machine that had better features will be sent to hopefully be recycled or end up in the landfill. And here I am with the "newer" not so great model, hoping it will get me through a couple more years. Having said that, it is a decent machine with decent capabilities for a decent price. I am also a big fan of HP Instant ink.
