Not what HP promised

I purchased this printer to create award certificates, bulletins and print photos.
The certificates on stock card paper print perfect in black. Everything in color prints with lines and gaps. I have clean the heads, changed in cartridges, etc to no avail. This printer sucks up ink and produces a poor quality product!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I can easily understand why this would be a jarring surprise, especially considering you bought the printer for award certificates and photos, among other things. With that in mind, I’ll offer a resource and some information I hope will help.

Considering that you’ve tried the troubleshooting and remedial actions that you describe, I can’t tell why your printer continues to print poorly in color. So, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and help you find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Squeaks when printing

Squeaks when printing. It's gotten really loud and obnoxious, and sounds like something in the paper handling system rollers .. I suppose I'll need to take the printer apart to figure out how to lubricate a few rollers, as the sound is very annoying, loud and distracting, and occurs EVERY TIME I print anything

Nice printer. I have owned many and never disappointed. Note: If you could make one in this price point that could print labels/name badges, great. If these printers had a straight through feed option, it would stop the jamming and mis-feed problems with peel-off labels. Also, I could use a thicker stock for some applications.
