The printer works well but the software HP makes you download ia very bad and the printer is priced much higher than it's predecessor.

I’m sorry you’ve run into trouble with your printer. While I’m glad the machine has worked well, I’m sorry the HP Smart App has not worked well for you. I want to help you remedy this problem, so I’ll provide some resources aimed at making that happen.
First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site to installing and using the HP Smart App, especially the FAQ portion, which covers common questions as well as difficulties users have encountered. It covers operating systems including Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS. Find that guide here:

If any problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
