No ability to scan directly to email; it's a very convoluted process to scan. Front "printer door" constantly comes open, so had to tape that shut. Auto defaults to color copies, which is ridiculous.

Hi there.

I’m sorry that you’re not satisfied with your printer’s scanning feature and have experienced difficulty with one of the device’s doors. It’s no surprise that you’re put off by this, having to tape the door shut and go through an inconvenient process to scan. I want to help you remedy these issues, so I’ll provide some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, the scan-to-email function is not yet available on your printer’s control panel, but you can set it up as a shortcut in the HP Smart App. I recommend that you follow the steps in this guide you’ll find on our support site to creating such shortcuts:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06211157

If you need further assistance – and for input on what might be causing the door to swing open – I suggest you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best court of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
- hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
- support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Great but scan feature needs area adjusting

HP printers are great, I had an OfficeJetPro 8600 for ten years, replaced it with this model. All is great except the tray seems a little fragile. I don't like the HP smart scan feature like the one in my previous model which allowed me to set the scans to a constant scan area, the 8025e you have to play around with the scan till you get the size needed. Now I just use my computers automatic scan which is far faster and easier to use. I still give high grade for the 8025e

Hated that it initially defaulted to some sort of smart print instead of just going to print!

Hi, Babak.

I’m sorry that your printer has rendered prints of poor quality, and that its print speed has been slow. It’s no surprise that you’re disappointed, considering these two issues have come up so quickly after you bought the device. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll direct you to some resources I hope will make that happen.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in a guide on our support site to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text. Find that guide here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06260268

Next, I suggest that you follow a guide that covers improving print speed; choose whichever of the following two links matches your operating system:
- Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409
- Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898

Also, often just updating the firmware can help improve print speed. You can find out how to do that here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02919168

If any problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:

All OK. But, It is difficult to open to load the paper & close the tray. and Printed paper holding bracket unacceptable. Clamzy and also hard to extend, retract it. There is no holding to pull it out.
