Ever since I got this new printer it jams every other time I print, mostly when I have more than 2 pages or have a double sided print job. Nothing seems to fix it as I pull out the jammed paper and restore the guide. I let an HP salesman on the phone talk me into this one as a great deal when I really wanted an HP Envy double sided printer. He said it did the same thing and would cost me less. It's costing me TIME and trouble instead. HP has had plenty of years to ensure their product is top notch, I'm disappointed.

Too many little bugs. Often have to send a request for printing something twice or more and this is the slowest printer I have ever had to work with in my entire career. I wish I never had bought it. The years worth of free ink in retrospect is not able to compensate for my frustrations. I found an old HP printer at a yard sale that works so much nicer. This is the first HP product that I have been dissatisfied with all my years in needing printers and computers.

Easy Printing

I was eager to get the printer set up once I received it, but I only had a small window of time. I decided to give it a shot.SETUP:I was extremely pleasantly surprised at how easy the setup was! No instructions were needed as the display on the printer guides you through with ease. The most difficult part was unwrapping the printer cartridges. The setup was complete in 5 minutes.CONNECTING TO THE PRINTER:This is the part I always dread. I can never remember my WiFi password. Fortunately, I didn`t need it. The printer found my WiFi and connected via the HP app on my iPhone. It couldn`t have been simpler. Before I knew it, I was able to print.PRINTER QUALITY:In terms of product design, not much seems to have changed. I have had my share of HP Office Jet printers. This one appears much like those of the past, looks-wise. The display appears clearer and easy to read, without glasses. The size is what you`d expect, not too large, but not terribly small. Power save mode is helpful. The quality of the print is impressive. The HP app creates an easy way to get your documents printed.

Long set up, great printer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick summary: This is a great product after you complete the set up process and have it working correctly.SET UP: I had several issue with the set up of this printer, although it initially seemed quite simple. I began , as instructed, by going to the web site indicated on the enclosed material, only to be given an error message that my operating system was not recognized on my i-phone. At that point, I went to the same website on my Mac, and thought I had completed the steps correctly. I went thru the on line registration steps and downloaded drivers. Unpacking and basic following the diagrams was fairly simple, till I began getting an error code indicating that I had not installed the ink cartridges correctly. After solving that problem, things seemed to go smoothly. The printer recognized the wifi network and password, and the computer said it was communicating with the printer. It printed the test page and the "alignment page" without difficulty. The "instructions" enclosed with the printer are all in diagram form with no words, so sometimes they are a little confusing; some of the pictures do not look like THIS printer. After you set your preferred language, there are some verbal instructions on the printer itself. They tell you what is wrong, but not how to fix it. In truth, the instructions could have been better. Then I tried to print a document and nothing happened.The computer gave me a code for a different printer series. I tried a few things, then called HP Customer Support where a very nice gentleman tried to talk me thru it and ultimately asked me what version of Windows I was running. It`s a Mac. At that point he said that he should have started with that question and transferred me to their Mac department. Set up took a total of 3 hours, about 30 minutes of which involved the Mac department of HP taking control of my computer and doing it for me. Bottom line--it is working. Underlying reasoning--I`m confused, it looked like the whole process would have been easy from the beginning. It seemed very automatic. In fairness, this is a newly released printer and the software may not have been set up for it yet. The problem was NOT in the printer itself, but rather in the set up of communications between computer, cell phone, and printer. If all you wanted to do was to wire the printer to a computer thru a USB, you could eliminate nearly all the set up time, but you`d lose most of the amazing features. There are instructions for doing a wired installation. OPERATION: This machine is amazing. It is a "all in one" printer, scanner, copier, fax that does color and black and white. Like all desk jets, it is a little slow if compared to laser printers, but the quality is excellent. There are no lines thru the documents and the copies come out dry. There is no time lag between sending a document from my computer or phone and the start of printing. The scan and fax features are easy to use and work well. I can use their software on my phone to scan a document (now that we got that loaded correctly). It will automatically straighten out the document as cell phone photos are never perfect and I can send it to the printer with print instructions...so when I get home, it is already printed. I can scan a document on the printer and send it to my computer or cell phone. It is very easy to use, no matter which mode I`m in. During the installation process, the computer is assigned an e-mail address which you can then change to something you`ll remember. The document transfers work thru this address. The touch screen on the front of the printer allows you to change printer mode easily. It comes with a standard size cartridge of each colored ink and a 1/3 size cartridge of black, although there is space for a full size black cartridge. That means that the enclosed ink will likely not last long, but the printer includes an offer of 2 months of free ink for up to 300 pages each.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, sometimes setting up technology can intimidate me! I hate to admit it but, I always worry I am going to mess something up either with the machine or the wifi. Now, if all set ups were this straight forward and easy, I could be an IT support tech! The steps for the actual printer were step by step and dummy proof! Then the hook up to the wifi went like clockwork! Hurray!The printing quality is FABULOUS!! I Every copy is clean, straight and completely easy to read. Colors are the exact of what they should be, plus no smudging. I can print copies of X-rays, letters, or any additional required forms. My favorite attribute is that I can print from my phone or my lap top any where in the office. The printing is quick and easy to assign from any of the locations throughout the office. This is a wonderful addition to our office!
