[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never posted a comment about HP products, although have been very happy about 8020 Series and unhappy about the desktop tower (the worst and worse than Dell's).
Move on to 8035!
Best of all, the printer was delivered safely and it was not defective.
These days (probably "years" for that matter), we cannot expect anything to be Not Defective. So, the fact that the printer ordered was actually delivered and it worked was, in and of itself, deserves more than 1 STAR. Very happy for not wasting time and energy to return.

2) Easy to set up
The setup instructions directs you to visit 123.hp.com to set the printer up online.
However, 123.hp.com gives an impression that the printer doesn't have to get connected physically and HP does it for you. Of course, you have to ;)

3) Free Instant Ink for 2 Months
Wish it would have been 4 months like 8020 Series purchased a year or so ago.

4) Convenient and easy to manage Instant Ink
Instant Ink has been wonderful for heavy users.
The best thing about having 8020 and 8030 Series is that they share the same ink cartridges!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought this printer after my last HP broke almost 3-years to the day after buying it. Like all HP’s products, this printer is good, but the set-up was not that easy. I had to call HP twice for assistance on separate set-up issues. They disconnected me one of those times, inadvertently. The tech called back a short while later, which was impressive as she must have had to search for my number, but by that time I had figured out the issue she was trouble shooting with me. The frustration is that their set-up is just not that intuitive. It seems to me that with the cost of HP ink being so expensive, and the life expectancy of their machines relatively short, HP should provide the printers at no cost with a 3-year ink contract. They clearly make a fortune off the ink, which is a product they can be proud of, unlike their short-lived machines. In addition, the on-line technician who sold me the printer, convinced me I would be able to get my money back for the expensive, barely used ink cartridges I had just purchased when trouble shooting the old printer, but sadly, and even with contacting the company, that never materialized.
Again, HP makes a good product, but if you print on a regular basis, be aware they only work AS INTENDED for 2-3 years. However, HP’s support staff is first rate, and work hard to resolve your issues. I’m just disappointed I have been unable to get resolution on the expensive, barely used ink from my old printer.

We bought this (3 of them actually) to replace our 8600 after it broke for a small office. It doesn't hold very much paper, the tray doesn't open and close smoothly (have to lift up the printer each time), and it asks WAY too many questions... like you have to confirm the paper each time or it won't start printing. It seems way too much focus was put on the wifi office features than the printer itself. It constantly does "maintenance" as well. The ink seems to have "bubbles" where it goes in fits of bad printing and then good. (we buy ink direct). And it warns you that the ink is running "low" long before the cartridge needs changed, but then just runs out (it tells you to change it when the quality isn't acceptable anymore, which is usually in the middle of a print job). If I could return them, I would and buy a better printer. Since it was another 8000 series, I expected they would be like our other 8000 series, but this one seems like a much cheaper downgrade.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The cartridges provided with the machine are just like ink I buy for it, so this should be a win for me and HP for the idea.
