I had to replace a old Canon printer that quit working and did not have much money to spend. So I bought the cheapest printer I could find. Imagine my surprize when I found out I had sacrificed almost NOTHING! This OfficeJet 3830 does everything that my Canon did while taking up a lot less space on my desk! I couldn't believe it could do as good a job as it is doing! The only very simple advantage to the Canon was the paper storage below so the stack did not get dusty. Big deal! Only other thing was when lifting the top to place a page to be scanned, the Canon has a spring to help lift it. Big deal! But when it comes to ink replacement, the job is ten times easier and quicker on the OfficeJet! I just love this little thing!!!

This printer came at a great price, is easy to use, and takes up less space than my last printer. The print quality isn't professional grade but it's just fine for everyday use.
