This printer keeps saying it is out of paper when there is paper in the tray. Take the paper out, put it back in, load less paper, load more paper. Same result; it claims it's out of paper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It really hurts me to have to leave a negative review. I have had many HP products over the years, and always had superior service from them. (I have a HP Envy 5530 on my desk right now, and it has been nearly perfect for some years.) The price and features of the 3830 seemed especially attractive, since I wanted a machine with a fax. Alas, when it came and I started to set it up, a false "paper jam" message appeared. I tried everything possible (looked online, etc.) but in spite of a number of tries, I could not clear that error. After spending most of a day on this, I finally gave up and returned the printer.

Paper Jam error....

I get a paper jam error every time I print anything, even though there is no paper jam! Then once I clear the message it continues to pull paper through even after its printed something. Not sure if it’s a software bug or what but it’s VERY annoying. Will be returning.

The instructions were extremely poor. The paper tray is in the back, not front.. The ink cartridges go in upside down. This is not the 1st HP all in one I've had,, but it'll be the last. I have unused ink for my 6600 and then it died.
