First the cartridges ran out very quickly; then the paper feeders were malfunctioning; now there is a message that says user intervention required, and the only solution i get is to uninstall, reinstall, and start over? Every time I try to use this printer something goes wrong. More days idle that active. Not good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm dreadfully sorry about this situation, but maybe we can make it better.
First of all, the cartridges that come with the printer are not the same as the ones you will purchase separately. They are designed to help initialize the printer and might not last as long because of that.

This printer works great. It is a little bit slower than my last printer. But it is light and easy to move if I have to. I am very happy with the quality of HP printers. This is my 4th HP printer.

I can't get it to work with my mac. It'll print then the Mac can't ever find it again.

I've been using it for a month with my family's 3 Mac computers and iPhones and it works great. Very easy to set up on our wifi, connects without problem to print each time. Quality of prints is very good, even if speed is not the fastest. Integrates beautifully with our iPhones, making it easy to scan directly from the scanner into the iPhone, or to print directly from the iPhone. Instant Ink also easy to set up and pricing seems very reasonable for occasional use.
I am now returning my 3rd printer that does not work

The printer was horrible to set up and use. It would never let you get past a certain point in the set up and was unusable. It would not let you attache a cable from the printer to the computer. Got tired of messing with and returned it to HP.
