Unfortunately, it is very loud, it makes my dog bark. :( The scan feature is very cumbersome. Each time I use it I need to go online to the website to start it. Uses ink way faster than my previous printer, Brother, but then this is color. The color feature is very good, n0t sure it's enough to offset the other issues.

I want to help you resolve as many of these issues as possible and get the most from the printer, so I’ll recommend some applicable resources.

First, I'll explain one factor that might be causing the noise you hear. While your printer is powered up, it makes sure that the nozzles are regularly cleared, which can be noisy, especially if the printer is on a hard surface. I suggest you try placing the printer on a padded surface to muffle the vibrations that occur.

Overall quality good and functionality meets expectations, but number of pages per ink cartridge is completely unacceptable. Way fewer pages per cartridge than experienced with the HP 8715 that this device replaced. The cost per page for ink is double what was expected. Will retain the printer for photos when needed and now shopping for another everyday printer.

With the cost of printing double your estimate, it’s no surprise that you’ve relegated the device to minimal use. I want to help you mitigate the rate of ink use if possible and see why it might be happening, so I’ll offer some clarifying information and some resources to do that.

I can’t tell from your review how many pages you’ve gotten per cartridge. The XL versions designed for your printer, the HP 64, have estimated page yields of 415 for color and 600 for black. These estimates are based on standards used throughout the industry, yet how cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to factors including usage, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.

Here are some things you can consider:
- If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, I recommend that you contact the seller who sold you the items.

This is my second HP all purpose printer. I am very pleased with it. It was easy set up and it works much better than my previous printer in allowing me to print different size pictures. The only thing thing I would change is the way you load paper. It is more difficult than my previous printer. Not a major problem.
