Simple and easy to setup. I had owned older Envy models before and this one is a great improvement. The HP Smart app is a handy tool which can greatly streamline printing and scanning from/to mobile phones and laptops -- and it becomes more reliable with quicker response at this generation. Without an auto-feeder for scanning documents, if you do not anticipate high volume of scanning, this is the model to go for instead of more costly higher models. Like other HP printers, it is loaded up with many templates for children activities and family memo which I have found it a plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer was fairly easy to set up on my old Mac (which isn't even supposed to be compatible). The only glitch is that I can't scan off my computer without going into my settings and initiating the scan from there (that might just be my own lack of know-how). It's a little bigger than I expected, but nice looking. The printer arrived within a day of ordering and the first shipment of replacement ink cartridges arrived just about a week later. (It comes with ink cartridges already). Quality of printing is good. I would recommend it - my computer is a 2014 MacBook Pro and I was told by an HP phone rep that HP does NOT currently sell any printers that would work with my computer - not true - this one works very well.

This printer is difficult to set up. kept saying the printer was off line but it was online. would not accept the claim code for insta ink. Non existent customer support. virtual assistant is rubbish. Sorry I bought this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
