Set-up was a nightmare due to lack of instructions. HP help is useless. Took me 4 hours to get to printing anything and I'm average in tech things. Definitely not "plug and play". First few print jobs are fairly good quality There has to be easier printers to set-up

Previous HP 5180c finally stopped working after many years, bought this as a replacement, excellent choice, easy to set up and configure, works perfect! Would highly recommend this model, added value with the HP ink system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Several major issues

I'm glad I got this printer on sale as I will have to replace it sooner than planned.
Here is what I don't like about it:
1. Blurry print - the top part of each page is definitely blurry compared to the bottom part. This is despite me doing all the things HP says I should do to fix issues. And the blurriness is getting progressively worse, especially on the colour parts of my printing.
2. I was promised 5 months of instant ink - but beware this is only true if you plan to keep buying your cartridges from HP. If you get a cartridge from HP, and you do not stay with the instant ink program, then the cartridges you have already received will not work.
3. The colour cartridge is one cartridge, not 3 separate as with some other printers. If you do a lot of printing using a particular colour, say blue, then you are replacing the whole cartridge even though the yellow and red might still be nearly full.

I got 6 months of free ink

I just bought a printer for myself and for my dad's office. When registering for instant ink, I got 6 months of free printing on both the printers using this code: j6V9N. At first it showed up as 1 month but it ended up giving each of the printers 6 months of free printing!!

It's a little fussy with the paper feed and the set up was slightly nightmarish BUT it gets the job done. I'm printing and scanning and that's what I needed

A nice printer

This is a well-reviewed printer from Hewett-Packard, which is why I bought it. My last HP printer lasted about 3 years before failing, which is about what current HP printers last. I haven't used it that much but it is fast with color and black-and white printing.
The only downside to this printer is a rather small paper capacity, and a strange (non-standard) way of having to put the paper in.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I read mixed reviews before I bought, but thought I'll figure it out.
Printing set up was easy. Printing quality and speed is good for my needs.
The other story is scanning. Even after I installed recommended software from HP site, and having "scanning" option in a menu doesn't mean you have this option. Who created this software at HP?! First year college student? And why HP Testers didn't stop it and returned for improvement?
So, I'm still trying to figure it out.
