Cools well but a LOT could be improved

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first side by side fridge I have owned. It came with a new home. My previous fridge had a very silent compressor, and this one is very loud. I can hear it all over the home. It does cool well, but I have had to get used to the compressor sound, when sleeping, in particular. It does cool well both in the freezer and fridge area. Another thing I do not like is that the stainless steel is not printproof. I have to be careful not to touch the outer surface of the doors or keep a cleaning rag handy to polish it up. The filter is on the exterior bottom and is easy to change. The ice maker in the door works well and I don't have to deal with cubes getting stuck together like they can when an icemaker dumps cubes in an internal bin. The ice/water dispenser in the door is not tall enough to accomodate what I call a popular size 7" inch tall tumbler. Therefore, you have to tilt the tumbler sideways to use the ice/water dispenser. This causes a lot of mishaps with water running down the door and ice in the floor - very poor design. I am really not happy with this fridge and would never buy one like this if I had not gotten it as part of a new home purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a 27 year old whirlpool side by side with this model and I don’t like the noise level and the ice dispenser it’s too short I have to use a small cup to fill a regular size glass. It looks like it was missing a shelf but it wasn’t

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a S*****g that was crashing. Strong reviews and recommendations from an app repairman friend convinced me. Very happy with my choice. Keeps an even temp and the water filter especially provides clean and refreshing h2o; it's also great to finally have an ice maker that works. This isn't a fancy model, but the reliability alone makes it a huge upgrade from our previous fridge.
