Noisy and Questionable Reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator was delivered one month ago. I bought it based on favorable reviews. My experience has been just the opposite. The cooling fan in the freezer is very noisy. It sounds like the motor has a bad bearing(s). The refrigerator is very noisy compared to my previous refrigerator. Last night the refrigerator shut down. When I awoke this morning, I unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in. It is cooling now, but I don't know for how long.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i’m less than satisfied

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I reviewed my new whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator a few months ago. I own all whirlpool appliances (four all told). This refrigerator replaced the one that faithfully served us for 21 years. It has many shortcomings. The three most noticeable are the high noise level (I had to install sound deadening on two walls to quiet it. Second, the ice cube maker is massive and takes up a fifth of the freezer. I removed it and bought ice cube trays. Third, and the worst, is that on the recommended temperature setting (there are only four settings) much of what’s in the refrigerator freezes and spoils. If I set it a notch lower, everything in the freezer melts. I would not buy this model again. I notice that my son’s Whirlpool refrigerator has the same problem. There are many features I like, which I reviewed in an earlier post.

LEAKS ICE

Multiple times a day the ice dispenser drops ice onto the kitchen floor while I’m watching TV. Neighbors have the same fridge with the same issue.

POOR BUILD QUALITY

I had to wait about two months for this side by side due to needing a specific color. The delivery was excellent but the build quality of this refrigerator is far below Whirlpool Standards of my other Whirlpool appliances. The side by side doors are approximately 1/2" misaligned vertically and two shelves were not included with the refrigerator from the factory. One shelf on the refrigerator side and one shelf from the freezer side.
