[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new appliances were my Christmas gift and I was so excited to upgrade them. My refrigerator was the first upgrade and I'm still trying to get used to it. It's very easy to clean and keep fingerprints off! It's very well lit effects the door opens. Plenty of room also. My overall opinion is, so far so good...
I would recommend this to a friend!

A piece of junk .. two weeks in, doesn't work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a piece of junk. After two weeks, the icemaker no longer works. The temperature settings in the main fridge are a joke. The "ideal" setting is below freezing and everything in the fridge ices up. The next warmer setting is in the 40's, which is unsafe. Don't buy this fridge. Maybe don't buy Whirlpool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot figure out the temperature for the fridge. Things are either freezing or too warm. I tried everything. The ice maker is very loud & is too slow we always run out of ice it could never keep up. The fridge door swings right up open hitting the cabinet behind it.

Could have been a contender.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a fridge and freezer this unit worked fine. As an ice and water dispenser it quickly, on day three, revealed its fatal flaw, drippage from that dispenser. Apparently that's not at all an uncommon problem for water/ice dispensers, especially in humid climates like Hawaii.

Hello, We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Refrigerator. A leaking water or ice dispenser can be a frustrating, and often messy, problem. Before calling for service, you can perform a few simple checks to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue. Possible Solutions and Detailed Checks1. Is the dispenser drip tray full? The dispenser drip tray is designed to catch minor drips and spills during regular use. If this tray is overflowing, the excess water will leak or spill down the front of the refrigerator door, often mimicking a more serious leak. Inspection: Visually check the drip tray. If you see water right up to the brim or spilling over, it needs to be emptied. Removal and Emptying: The drip tray often contains a removable insert for easier cleaning. To remove the entire drip tray assembly, push down on the rear edge of the insert to tilt up the front edge, allowing you to pull the tray completely out. Carry it to the sink to empty and clean it, then securely place it back into its housing. 2. Are there residual ice shavings in the ice chute? When using the crushed ice feature, small ice shavings and fragments can sometimes become lodged in the ice chute. These residual pieces will eventually melt, causing water to drip from the dispenser area, particularly in the moments immediately following ice dispensing. Inspection: Look up into the ice chute area for any visible ice shavings or blockages. Clearing the Chute: The most effective way to clear the chute is to dispense 8 to 10 whole ice cubes after dispensing crushed ice. The larger cubes help push any residual shavings through and prevent buildup. Incorporating this into your routine, especially after heavy use of crushed ice, can prevent future dripping. 3. Was the glass held under the dispenser long enough? It is normal for the dispenser mechanism to release a few residual drops of water immediately after the dispenser lever has been released. This is not typically a leak, but rather the system pressure equalizing. Technique Adjustment: To prevent these drops from splashing onto the floor or down the door, practice holding the glass or container under the dispenser for an additional 2 to 3 seconds after you have released the dispenser lever. This allows any residual water to fall safely into the container or the drip tray. 4. Is there a loose water connection? A continuous or intermittent drip from the dispenser could indicate a leak in the water supply line itself. This requires checking the connections that route water to the dispenser.
Internal Inspection: Open the refrigerator compartment and check the lower back area or hinge points for any signs of water pooling or dampness. External Inspection (Household Connection): Unplug the refrigerator and gently pull it away from the wall. Inspect the household water connection valve and the tubing running into the back of the product. Look for loose nuts, cracked tubing, or dampness around the connection points. If you find a loose connection, it may need to be carefully tightened (do not over-tighten) or repaired by a qualified technician if the tube itself is damaged. 5. Is the water filter damaged or improperly installed? The water filter is a common point for leaks if it is cracked, damaged, or if the rubber O-rings that create the seal are missing or compromised. Removal and Inspection: Locate and carefully remove the water filter according to your refrigerator's instructions. Filter Integrity: Inspect the filter body itself for any visible cracks or chips. A damaged filter must be replaced immediately. O-Rings: Check that the rubber O-rings, which provide the watertight seal when the filter is inserted, are securely in place and not damaged or twisted. If they are missing or damaged, the filter should be replaced. Installation: Ensure the filter is correctly aligned and fully secured in its housing. A partially installed filter will break the seal and cause leaking. Whirlpool strongly recommends using everydrop® water filters.
