[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old refrigerator was also "Whirlpool" and I have used it for 15years with no big problem. So, I purchase Whirlpool refrigerator again, and so far all is working well. I am so happy. Thanks to Whirlpool.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first one delivered was apparently a lemon. It was like having a lawn mower in the kitchen. Very, very loud. The ice maker finally made about 50 cubes after 5 days. The water in the door was fine. There was a shelf missing. I do not like the ice and water placements. The ice dispenser is very short. You can't stand a glass under it to fill with ice. You have to lean it in. It will take a short cup, but not a glass. I asked for a replacement and the second one is quite, makes a good am out of ice, has a drawer missing and I don't like ice dispenser for same reasons as listed above.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I had purchased this refrigerator sooner, the builders GE was a noisy, unwelcome piece of crap.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really like the unit but I dropped it a star, because of 3 problem areas that in my opinion, need addressed. 1. The temperature control unit for refrigerator is poor in design and not simple to adjust. All the refrigerator needed is two 1.5 inch square lighted boxes with one marked refrigerator and the other freezer. Each box having a label indicating that #1 is the lowest temp setting and #10 is the highest temp setting. An arrow on each box to indicate when the arrow is pressed, the temp setting desired is being taken up or down.
2. The refrigerator handles are constantly loosening up. Simply because the door handles lower and upper Hex Allen screws used to hold the handle secure, are threaded in to thin aluminum. Which do not allow enough threads for the screws to thread in to, to keep the bolts from loosening up. Which also results in the bolts not being allowed to get the proper torque applied, as doing so will strip out the thread screw hole.
3. When one sits a glass in the water fill station and it fills and the glass is removed, the fill spout leaks out a few drops of water. Not a big deal if it dripped in to the tray where the glass sits, where it would evaporate eventually. But no, the few drops of water drips down the stainless steel door front, leaving a water trail from the dispenser bottom on the door surface down to the floor. A water trail that needs to be wiped off frequently, as our not really soft city water, will leave a hard water stain. And it does this, because the water fill nozzle is sticking out just a few thousands of an inch, PASSED the surface of the door.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used for 6 weeks. Nice size and fairly quiet. Water dispenser in door drips and runs down door. Ice also accumulates just inside the container and spills out if manually reaching in for a handful.
