Another great Whirlpool Refrigerator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This appliance is similar to one we already own in another house and it is cooling well, making plenty of ice cubes and its controls are easy to use. Our only complaint is that sometimes when you open a door the fridge rolls slightly out toward you..

If you are concerned about your refrigerator running too much, here are key areas to check:
Location and Ventilation
Ensure the refrigerator is installed indoors, away from heat sources (like an oven or radiator).
It should be in a location with an ambient temperature between 55 °F (13 °C) and 110 °F (43 °C).
Verify there is sufficient space around the sides and top for proper air circulation; do not block the base grille or install behind a cabinet door.
Recent Changes
The motor will run longer for 24 to 48 hours after initial installation or after adding a large amount of new food/beverages. This is normal until temperatures stabilize.
Usage and Settings
Limit how frequently the doors are opened, as this causes the internal temperature to rise and the motor to run more often.
Confirm that the temperature controls are set correctly, typically at the factory "mid-setting." Setting controls too low will increase the run time unnecessarily.

The Biggest Appliance Regret I've Ever Made

This refrigerator has been a huge disappointment. The ice maker produces very little ice, even after two service calls and a replacement ice maker. Our family of three has to buy bags of ice just to keep up.
The ice and water dispenser is poorly designed. If you use a Yeti or Stanley-style cup, ice flies everywhere, and it's easy to accidentally activate the water dispenser, making a mess.
To make matters worse, the water dispenser continues to drip after every use, leaving water running down the stainless steel door and onto the floor.
I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and buy a different model..

For troubleshooting your refrigerator's ice and water dispenser, follow these steps:
New Installation: Allow 24 hours for ice production to begin and three days for full ice production.
Temperature Controls: If the refrigerator is too warm, adjust the controls to a colder setting to help with ice production. Wait at least 24 hours between adjustments.
Water Line: Ensure the refrigerator is connected to a cold water supply and that the 1/4" soft copper or PEX water supply line is installed correctly and has no kinks, as a kink can reduce water flow.
Water Filter: Replace the water filter every 6 months, when the indicator light comes on, or as needed. A clogged or improperly installed filter can slow ice production and water flow. Whirlpool recommends everydrop® water filters.
Flushing the System: After installing a new filter or connecting to a water source, flush the water system to remove air and excess carbon.
If you have a dispenser, dispense the amount of water recommended in the filter's instructions (often 1, 2, or 4 gallons).
If you don't have a dispenser, fill and discard three full ice containers. For more information, see How to Flush the Water System in a Refrigerator.

The ice maker barely makes ice? We’ve been using this refrigerator for a month now at first it was making lots of ice and now it’s just stopped 😞 my old whirlpool made a ton of ice!
