Poor Ice maker

The ice maker very slowly makes ice. Not sure why Whirlpool is putting this poor icemaker in their refrigerators. Wish I had just repaired my old refrigerator. Should recall this ice maker. Wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing. May be returning.
I bought my refrigerator last year and initially it was great. Around the 7 month we started having ice cubes randomly drop from the dispenser. We did check to make sure there weren't any random cubes stuck in the hopper or near the bottom of the dispenser. Then last month just before the 1 year warranty expired, the fan stopped working and it stopped cooling on both sides of the fridge. Had to throw away some items that were above temp in the refrigerated side. It took almost a month to get the repair completed. The fridge itself does ok when working. Storage is decent but it still seems like the cold air doesn't circulate as well as it should on the refrigerated side. The fridge is not over loaded so it can get good air flow. Hopefully no more service issues come up since the warranty is set to expire in a few weeks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased all new Whirlpool appliances when I moved in my new home. I am enjoying my refrigerator and look forward to years of service.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 7/13 bought first fridge, delivered 7/17, door defective, requered to exchange. Second fridge delivered 7/24. 4-5 days later the temperature inside the fridge was between 46 - 48 degrees, and some of our food spoiled. The freezer side was covered with ice crystals all over We called Whirlpool company (47 minutes on Hold) the repairman came 4 days later, he defrosted the ice, told us that something was blocked probably due to the transportation, and he said he fixed it. About 4-5 days later the same happened. We called the company again (35 min on Hold), we were promised a repairman the next day, but nobody came, nobody called. The repair company emailed at 4 pm that they are not coming. Our appointment was rescheduled from Thursday to Monday. More food went to the garbage. Between the first fridge and the second one, we are already going through this nightmare over 6 weeks (between the purchases, deliveries, phone calls, and repairs. Worse purchase of our life.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son picked it out..he has excellent taste! It is beautiful. It does need the noise volume addressed.Overall it is very serviceable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator looks good and works good. The through the door water and ice is great. Now, time will tell if it is a maintenance nightmare or runs well for years. What I DO NOT like about it is the gap between the back of the shelf and the back wall. This will allow "stuff" to fall down the back.
