Nice fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased in white; and outwardly, it has a nice sleek design that updates the look of our kitchen. Large ice bin capacity is great for filling your cooler. Roomy inside both compartments with adjustable shelving for customization of food storage. Only negative is that the water spout in the door dispenser is placed on outer edge of dispenser so when you accidentally push the water dispenser (and you will), water runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor--so you have to be thorough in cleanup when this happens. All things considered, we are really satisfied with our purchase,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are some things that should be automatic such as, the light coming on when getting ice or water. The opening for this should be taller so that glasses or other containers would be easier to fill. It seems as though there is wasted space and more difficulty to arrange items to chill or freeze. Maybe I'm more use to my old refrigerator since I went from a two-door for chilling to a side-by-side. Just saying.

Basic fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a refrigerator that died on a holiday weekend. Although I like the side-by-side feature , this refrigerator holds less than the old one due to poor planning . It came with 3 shelves in both, fridge and freezer sections, although there is space for an additional shelf. The shelves have a gap in the back with the lowest one having a gap of almost 4 inches. That means that you can’t put bottles or anything small or it will fall through the gap. The drawers are also exceedingly deep which means that you have to take out everything to get the things at the bottom. It is barely adequate for a family of 3 but takes a lot of space in the kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not so user friendly ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The switch for the ice maker is not in a place that is easy to access. You have to remove the whole ice tray to reach the switch. Meanwhile the tray is heavy and ice falls all over the floor. Whoever designed this model is not a good designer. I think they assumed that a man would be removing the ice tray.

Nice refrigerator, couple of suggestions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice refrigerator. Works well and looks good. No real complaints. My only suggestion would be to keep the ice and water options together. The water spout above the ice dispenser is in the way and often causes spills because of its placement. Also the manual ice door in the freezer needs a softer close as it slams and is loud as it closes.

Issues with icemaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator was installed on Friday, 10/7. The refrigerator door did not close properly so a new door had to be order and couldn't use the refrigerator side. That night we heard a loud noise from the freezer and determined that it was happening when the ice maker was getting ready to dump ice and fill again. It was so loud that it would wake us up during the night. When I called Monday to Kelley's Appliance, where we purchased all of our appliances, he setup a service call. I was able to record the sound that the freezer was making so when the service rep came it could maybe determine what the issue was. The refrigerator door was replaced on 10/12 so that was fine. The Whirlpool repair man came on 10/13 was able to listen to our recording and immediately said it was the icemaker and would need to replace it but that he didn't have the parts on his truck and would have to order and come back to replace. He told us that this was a big issue with all refrigerators know because they were plastic and broke easily and that we could probably count on having to replace it every 2 years or so!!!! Not good at all. He came back and replaced the icemaker 10/21 and is working fine now - finally. One of the reason we bought Whirlpool appliances because we had all Whirlpool appliance and they were all18 yrs or older and have NEVER had to have any of them serviced. Needless to say I am VERY disappointed in this purchase!!! To think that we have no choice but to purchase an extended warranty on this product, knowing that chances are high that we will have to have the icemaker replaced on a periodic bases. The other thing is that the refrigerator has a place to put 4 shelves but only three shelves came with the refrigerator. I would love to have the 4th shelf but I have to order on and have not been able to locate on on your website.
