Do not buy this refrigerator.
The design flaws were obvious from day one. The ice and water dispenser is poorly designed, with barely enough clearance for a standard cup. Every time you angle a cup to get ice, it's almost guaranteed to bump the water lever and spray water everywhere. It's frustrating, messy, and clearly wasn't tested with actual everyday use in mind.
Even worse, the refrigerator is already failing after less than 90 days. It has started making loud, concerning noises and is leaking water onto the floor. A major appliance should last years, not weeks. For the price, the quality is unacceptable, and this unit has been nothing but disappointment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only makes 8 cubes of ice at a time, so it takes about a week to make enough ice to fill it up, if you use the ice it takes another week before you have enough ice to be able to use it. It’s nice looking and matches my stove but it’s not good for a family.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us! We're genuinely sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with your Whirlpool® Refrigerator. We're committed to providing the best support, and we'd love to discuss your experience further and see how we can help. For troubleshooting your refrigerator's ice and water dispenser, follow these steps: New Installation: Allow 24 hours for ice production to begin and three days for full ice production. Temperature Controls: If the refrigerator is too warm, adjust the controls to a colder setting to help with ice production. Wait at least 24 hours between adjustments. Water Line: Ensure the refrigerator is connected to a cold water supply and that the 1/4" soft copper or PEX water supply line is installed correctly and has no kinks, as a kink can reduce water flow. Water Filter: Replace the water filter every 6 months, when the indicator light comes on, or as needed. A clogged or improperly installed filter can slow ice production and water flow. Whirlpool recommends everydrop® water filters. Flushing the System: After installing a new filter or connecting to a water source, flush the water system to remove air and excess carbon. If you have a dispenser, dispense the amount of water recommended in the filter's instructions (often 1, 2, or 4 gallons). If you don't have a dispenser, fill and discard three full ice containers. For more information, see How to Flush the Water System in a Refrigerator. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall we really like the refrigerator. My one complaint is that it did not come with a meat/deli drawer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator and Freezer keep things fresh. The only downside is the water and ice dispenser. When we use a refillable thermos many times the water pours when you are getting ice. Also, there is no catch basin on this model so we had to improvise and place a dish cloth so water doesn’t spill down the front of the refrigerator l.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge keeps cold extremely well, the freezer works well. The controls are simple to use. The fridge could stand to have an additional drawer. I’ve never had one that didn’t have 3 drawers. This one has 2 and the very bottom drawer is a bit small. In all fairness, though, this is the smallest fridge I have had. I found a piece at Hobby Lobby that works to keep cheeses and sandwich meat in. The ice maker works well, but frequently, a bit after someone gets ice from the dispenser in the door, a piece of ice will drop from the dispenser and ends up on the floor. I still like it innspitebof those things, but a pickier person might not.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Icemaker is awful the door flap near the water does not close all the way and it melts the ice into the floor The placement of the water and ice dispenser buttons are misleading and half the time you hit the wrong one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This frig looks good, fit our space, however, the ice maker is a HUGE disappointment. Not even 6 weeks into it's use, the "crushed Ice" feature doesn't work. It gets backed up and freezes in the door. The Whirlpool serviceman who came to look at it, said it is common, and the only remedy is to use the cubed ice only. I had to put black tape over it so guests wouldn't try to use it. Also, it left water on the floor, the way it is designed....My neighbor bought a frig, (not Whirlpool) that was on the inside of the door. I suggest going with a model like that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us! We're genuinely sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with your Whirlpool® Refrigerator ice dispenser. We're committed to providing the best support, and we'd love to discuss your experience further and see how we can help. For troubleshooting your refrigerator's ice and water dispenser, follow these steps:Ice Production and Dispensing Is the refrigerator making ice? If the dispenser gives water but not ice, check the ice maker. Ice Maker is Making Ice but Not Dumping: Reset the Ice Maker by unplugging the refrigerator for 1 minute. Wait a couple of hours and check for ice in the bin. Ice Maker is Not Making Ice: Refer to the "Not Making Ice" section in your Owner's Manual. Ice Blockages: Clumped Ice: If ice clumps (due to infrequent use or humidity), empty the bin and break up the ice with a plastic utensil, then discard the clumped ice. Clean the ice storage bin and delivery chute every 2 weeks. Do not use anything sharp. Clogged Chute: If particles build up and block the chute, clean the ice delivery chute and the bottom of the ice storage bin with a warm, damp cloth, and dry thoroughly. Incorrect Bin Installation: For external (in-door) ice systems, ensure the ice bin is fully snapped into place to prevent low or no ice production. (See Owner's Manual for instructions). Dispenser Controls Doors Closed: On some models, the doors must be closed to engage the dispenser. Control/Dispenser Lock: Check if the Control Lock or Dispenser Lock feature is activated. This deactivates the dispenser controls and pad, but does not affect power to the refrigerator, ice maker, or dispenser light. Paddle/Pad Engagement: Ensure the dispenser paddle or pad is fully engaged by firmly pressing a sturdy glass against it. How to Dispense Select water or ice on the display (depending on your model). Firmly press a sturdy glass against the dispenser paddle. Remove the glass to stop dispensing.
