Great range... if
on November 24, 2020

This is a great range that needs a few improvements in my opinion.
As a chef of 30 plus years, I am very familiar with induction cooking. I believe the large front burner needs to be switched to the left side.
Also, that timer is just way too quiet. Without a mobile device nearby, it’s very easy to ignore.
The nuts and bolts of this range are great. The oven heats quickly and temperatures are correct and consistent.
Cleanup is relatively easy, but not nearly as easy as advertised.
All in all, we are pleased with it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

2 problems already in less than a month
on December 9, 2020

This stove was installed less than a month ago, and from the start the front right burner did not work. After 2 weeks, I noticed that when you open the oven door and then close it, the stove does not always recognize that the oven door is closed so it turns off the baking.

Hello GD50-Congratulations on your new range. This is a beautiful model! We are sorry for the issues you've had with the burner. Please take advantage of your warranty and reach out to GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 if you haven't already. In regards to the baking turning off when the door is open, if you are using the Convection baking the convection fan will turn off when the oven door is opened. If you have any additional questions in the future, please don't hesitate letting us know. We are always happy to help! Joyce@Cafe

Good cooktop, poor oven
on November 26, 2021

The cooktop has plenty if power and seems well laid out. However the oven is very poorly designed. The extension rack is built so it diminishes the pan size and layout significantly. You can only fit a standard size cookie sheet one direction. See photo. The other issue is they recommend you only cook on 2 shelves at a time. This is a really stupidly built oven for anyone who really likes to bake!

Hi there, and thanks for letting us know about your experience with this convection range. While we’re glad you enjoy the power and lay out of the cooktop, we do regret that you are dissatisfied with the design of the oven.

Your feedback regarding the oven design and available space, extension rack, and shelves you can use will certainly be sent to our Cooking Products Design team for review and future development. Because we always want to ensure we’re aware of what our consumers think about our models, we truly value your insights.

If you think it may be helpful, the use and care manual for this model includes information on the racks and various cooking methods/options and is linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-2000232-3.pdf . We hope that may be useful for you. If you have any other questions or concerns, we are always glad to help. -Sarah@Cafe

Multiple issues within 3 years
on December 8, 2021

After about a year we started having a number of issues with the interface and then the range stopped working completely. We had to have a number of expensive parts replaced. Now, not quite three years in we had the induction module in the stove stop working and this was another costly repair. Even when our range is working, we have had a number of glitches whenever we use the stove and oven together. Sometimes it is just an annoyance (various alarms going off for no reason), but other times the key pad stops working altogether. This is dangerous when we can’t turn off the oven or adjust temperature while cooking. There have been times where we have had to shut off the breaker to turn off the unit. I do love the induction stove when it is working, but it is unreliable as a result of poor mechanical design and manufacturing and over-complicated and inconsistent computer programming.

Great appearance

My first induction heating so its taking a little getting used to. Was very impressed - when heating pot of water to cook pasta, after putting pasta in and was at the point of boiling over, I turned the heat down and it immediately reduced foaming. This is why I switched to induction

Beautiful but Too Expensive to Malfunction

Focusing on the product, this is a beautiful and pricey machine. However, still focusing on the product, the machine malfunctions and becomes extremely dangerous. I just could not recommend this range.

Love Induction, Oven Requires Wireless (BAD!!)
on July 14, 2022

from Louisville, KY
Cooking on induction is a different world, one that suits my busy family nicely. The matte black is a revelation, hides fingerprints and looks lovely in my kitchen.
The oven works fine, however many of the "great features" (roasting, air fry) require wireless connectivity to GE SmartHQ App. Clearly this wasn't a part of the sales pitch! As of now, we will not connect to this App. The reviews are atrocious, and I AM NOT COMFORTABLE SHARING MY DATA/WIRELESS ANYTHING WITH GE, nor will I ever be. We are considering purchasing a separate internet connection specifically for our GE appliances so that we may utilize fully all of the oven settings.
I understand the utility of accessing appliances while away from home and, while I would not use that function, it would not bother me to have it on my appliance. However, when I press the button to Roast and I am told that I must connect via wireless in order to use the roasting mechanism? Nope, not cool.
Our prior oven was a KitchenAid, which offered fabulous features without wireless connectivity. We bought GE because one of their major production facilities is in Louisville, KY, we were proud that a few of our appliances were made "just down the road" and we have neighbors who are long-time GE employees.

Hi there, thank you for the honest feedback. We're pleased to know how much you enjoy the looks and capabilities of your induction cooktop, but we're sorry you weren't aware that some of the features needed internet connection to be accessed. We can understand how this could be a bit of a let down if you didn't know, so we'll be sure to pass this feedback along to our product team for them to evaluate as well. We're wishing you the best and we appreciate you taking the time to reach out. You can always find us on social media if you need anything else.

The best until it stopped working

I loved this range. It is beautiful. Did a great job cooking. Easy to keep clean. We waited forever to get it and I've said over and over again I'll never purchase another brand. We've had it less that 1 year and 3 months. The other night we noticed a burning randomly shutting itself off. Tonight as I started dinner the burners started to come on and then immediately turned off. The surface hot light came on and stayed for a very long time. The burners never came on. I checked the warranty and it has a 1 year warranty.
What makes me even madder is that I purchased a GE refrigerator and the icemaker went out exactly at 1 year and I had to pay to replace it.
A range in this price range should last longer than 15 months.

Hello - Thank you kindly for taking a moment to leave a review. It means a whole lot to us.

We're so sorry to hear about your range having issues so soon after installation. That is the last thing we expect or want to happen. We strive to build quality appliances that last. We know this has been a frustrating situation to deal with.

Additionally, we are going to have one of our agents reach out over email to gather some more information. Just in case, make sure to check your spam and junk folder, as sometimes our message can be in there.

Thank you.
