Good but not great

The Cafe range is okay, but for the cost should be excellent. Too many burners can't fit the cookware. The one and only large burner has a hot spot. And there should be two large burners.

There is no bridge burner, even though ads said so
on June 16, 2025

The cooktop design is incorrect as it indicates a bridge burner with a sync knob that regulates the two left burners and lines between those two burners. Plus some of their advertising indicating there’s one. (I called and I heard they removed those YouTube ads.)

We want to help clarify information about the features of this range.
This model does not include a bridge burner, but does include sync burners. The sync burners are very similar to bridge burners. They allow you to control the two cooktop burners as one to create a bigger cooking surface for pans such as griddles. The main difference is that the space between the burners do not heat up. However, the burners are close enough together that you still get an even cooking area, especially since using the sync burners will ensure the burners are at the same temperature and will cycle together.
You can find more information on using the sync burners on page 9 inside the user manual below.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range performs better- that is- more responsive- than the one it replaced. The interior and racks are of a higher finish and therefore easier to keep clean. I like that there are two options to clean depending on level of baked on spills, etc. Because the control knobs are on the front instead of taking up real estate on the cooking surface, the bonus is the extra burner- the 'warming hub' which doesn't require an induction ready pan. Very pleased so far and hoping it lasts longer than its' 8 year old predecessor.

Better Tasting Food
on September 2, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We initially wanted to switch to an induction cooktop with electric oven for cleaner air. What we were surprised by was better tasting food. I can’t explain the science. Perhaps it’s the speed of temperature changes on the cooktop and the convection assist in the oven, but food tastes better. Most of our pans, including most of the cast iron work on the new surface. Tips: Lock the controls when cleaning, and then they can be left locked until the next use. Clean after every use (soapy water works well.) If you forget to turn off a burner, it cuts the heat, but you must remember eventually to turn the knob back to the off position before the next use. The one easy gliding oven rack is great for heavy items. The knob illuminates when on and a separate warm light illuminates when there is a warm cook surface and automatically turns off when cooled. Three months with this appliance and I couldn’t be happier.

Wonderful Stove Lacks accessibility features

As a person who is totally blind and relies on Braille for daily tasks, I was initially excited to invest in the product mentioned above, expecting it to offer convenience and innovation. Unfortunately, I have encountered significant challenges that compromise its usability: 1. Keypad Sensitivity and Braille Support: The touch keypad lacks tactile feedback, and its sensitivity makes it impossible to operate without visual input. This design excludes users like me who depend on Braille or tactile indicators for interaction. My sighted family also confirms that this feature is difficult to operate. 2. App Accessibility: The Smart HQ app falls short in accessibility standards. For instance, it is not fully compatible with screen readers, making navigation and use frustrating and often impossible. Key features such as the broil function lacks the ability to be controlled from the app, and There is no way to stop the oven timer, nor the chime once the timer has completed. This lack of functionality denies users the ability to enjoy the full functionality of the product. These issues highlight a gap in design that inadvertently excludes a significant segment of your customer base. It is disheartening to see such innovative technology become inaccessible due to overlooked details.

I was excited to get this range however after using the 3 hour self-cleaning option it no longer worked. It took 2 weeks and 2 trips to resolve the issue because a part had to be ordered and repair rescheduled. Now the induction top does not work. I have a functioning oven and warming drawer. Repair is scheduled to tomorrow morning and hopefully I will receive confirmation of the timeframe and the tech will have the necessary part. This has become a major hassle for such an expensive item.

Got some issues!

We've had the inductions slide in oven an range for a week. I hate the oven racks, not a good design, too much width between metal. My small bread pans tipped over an raall over the bottom of the oven. The first time I used the oven, it sounds like the fan for the back vent is howling the whole time baking is going on.

Low-quality product with terrible support

Our range arrived a week and a half ago. I was so excited and loved the induction feature... for FOUR DAYS. Then the stovetop stopped working. It turns on, and within a few seconds just turns off again. I contacted GE and they said, oh, we can get someone out in a few weeks. I said, that's pretty rough, I just got this thing and this is a terrible experience. They said, oh, we have a servicer that can come out (last) Sunday. I agreed to the appointment. It is now Wednesday. The servicer has requested eight hours a day of availability for four days straight and has not come for ANY OF THEM. GE sold me a broken product for a lot of money and now is not bothering to solve this problem. I could have skipped spending all that money and I'd still have my old working stove!
GE, if you don't publish this I understand, I will just go post it on a more neutral site. But I thought you should see it first since you have put me in this awful situation for Easter week... I have already been a full week without a working stovetop and have no idea when this will even be resolved.

Oh no, we're so sorry that your range stopped working after only four days. This is not something we would expect from this model and we hate that you're having to deal with this and servicing issues - especially so close to the Easter holiday. This is very upsetting and we completely understand your disappointment.
We can see that you're actively working with one of our specialists to get a servicer out to you as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your cooperation and patience through this. They are your best resource moving forward and we're confident that we'll get a resolution sorted out very soon. Be well, Kelsey@Café
